Black Girls Code

We transformed 3,900 square feet of office space into an inspiring tech exploration lab for Black Girls Code, a nonprofit dedicated to teaching computer science to young women.

The challenge was clear: create a space that would not only serve as the organization’s home base but also demystify technology for the next generation of female innovators. Our solution was to design an environment that literally peels back the layers of technology, making the invisible visible. Read more

To design its new space in New York, Black Girls Code turned to Danish Kurani, a Harvard-trained architect. Kurani designed the interior to be comfortable and inviting—and also instructive.
